LOUDONVILLE- Florence Marie Krug Szesnat, 88, died Tuesday October 13, 2009. Born in Albany, she was a lifelong area resident.
Florence was employed at Bender Laboratories before her marriage, after which she was a homemaker. Her hobbies were playing the piano, sewing, baking cookie cakes, reading, poetry and writing. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church. Florence will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is the daughter of the late Clara and Florian Krug. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John J. Szesnat Jr.
Florence is the loving mother of Mary Lee (Edward) Burnham, John Szesnat, Jr., Michael (Deborah), Kenneth (Gina), Richard (Laura), Gerald (Judy), Robert, (Karen), Joyce (Thomas) Ragone, David (Brenda), Nancy (John) DeLessio, Kathleen, Thomas (Cindy) and the late Charles (Chippy) Szesnat. Sister of the late Harold, Alfred and Florian Krug. Cherished grandmother of Lori, Ned, Matt (Dawn), Jeff, Jay (Andrea), Michael Jr., (Corrine), Morgan, Kelly, Allison, Kenneth, Jr., Jacqueline, Richard Jr., (Casey), Emily (Zachary), Carla (Mike), Kyle , Jennifer (Dean), Robert, Jr., Daniel, Scott (Andrea), Nicholas (Lindsay) Andrew, Melissa, Jaimee, Jill, Steven (Jen), James (Jaci), Anthony, Ashley, Thomas Jr., and Jack. Also great grandmother of Isabelle Mary, Michael III, Christian, Selena, Annissa, Cameron, Kristina, Kylie, Taylor Anne, Jayden, Matthew and Makenna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Starsky. Special friend of Kristen and Justin Owens.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
