GUILDERLAND – Florence M. Tryon, 79, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born on March 22, 1934 in Dannemora, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Gebo) Garrow.
Florence was a member of the auxiliaries of both the DAV Post 88 and the VFW Post 357 both in Schenectady. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics, crocheting and was an excellent baker. She was aided by her loving and devoted son, Patsy, who has been caring for her for over two years as well as assisting his stepfather, George.
Florence is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, George E. Tryon; her loving children, Carol Ann St. Hilaire (Ray), Pauline A. Price, John R. Burns, Wayne L. Burns, Lee M. Burns (Peggy), Patsy M. Burns, and Gerald V. Brooks; her stepdaughter, Brenda Hotaling; her siblings, Agnes Mandy, Marie Roche, and Joseph Garrow (Beverly) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Burns in 1993, her daughter, Suzanne Basso, and her brother, Robert Garrow.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
