ALBANY- Florence Rose Colavito, 88, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Bronx and resided in Albany for the past thirty years. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Maria Fuccella. Florence worked in the Carmel Central School District, Albany Tile Supply and Beverwyck Senior Housing before retiring in 2000. She was also a proprietor with her husband Nick, of the Colavito Beverage Center in Carmel and Putman's Market in Johnstown, NY. Florence was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.
Florence was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 2002. She is the beloved mother of Madeline (Jim) Jeffs, Maria Colavito, Rose Anne Colavito, Nicholas (Terry) Colavito, Elizabeth (Dan) Morris, Vincent (Danny) Colavito and Christina (Rob) Lillpopp. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Florence will be missed her many dear friends at the Whitehall Ct. Senior Apartments.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 9:30 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Florence's name to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202.
