Florence Roarke

Florence A. (Padula) Roarke, "Flo", 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Newark, NJ to the late Frederick and Florence Baer. She had worked for Verizon for over 36 years before her retirement in 1987. Flo was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. Flo enjoyed bowling, Pinochle, watching TV and crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, Flo was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerald Roarke, and her two sisters, Dolores Russell and Deborah Baer.
Flo is survived by her beloved children; Frederick Padula of Guilderland and Victor Padula of Rensselaer; her stepson James Roarke of Virginia; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Theresa Coburn of Guilderland; her brother-in-law Charles Roarke of Colonie and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens.
