Florence Schlomberg

Florence L. Schlomberg, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Peters Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Florence was the daughter of the late George and Pearl Thorn.

She is the devoted wife of over 25 years to Carl R. Schlomberg who passed away in 1971.

Florence graduated from Watervliet High School in 1941.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church.

Florence enjoyed spending time with her family, counted cross stitching and quilting for her family.

In addition to her parents and her husband Carl, she was predeceased by her daughter, Melody Schlomberg, her sister, Pearl S. LaBarge and her niece Pearl LaBarge and her nephew Daniel LaBarge.

Florence is survived by her children, Carl (Patricia) Schlomberg, William (Michelle) Schlomberg and Audrey (Lee) Friedman. She is the adored grandmother of Kimberly (Robert) Krusinski, Kurt (Jaime) Schlomberg, Dr. Lindsey (Dylan) Ross-Bailey, David (Nirmaljit Samra) Ross and Dr. Michelle Schlomberg. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, a niece and many close family members.

The Peter Gansevoort Chapter DAR, will have a short memorial service at 6pm at the funeral home, all are welcome.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 Route 146, Clifton Park, NY, 12065. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
