Florence Vanalstyne

Albany- VanAlstyne Florence " Flo", 78, passed away on Wednesday April 24,2024. She was born July 5,1945 to the late Freeman and Florence (Mattick) VanAlstyne in Albany NY.

Flo, graduated from Philip Schuyler Highschool, the class of 1963. Flo was a waitress for many years in area diners and worked as a housekeeper at Teresian House Nursing Home, for 33 years before her retirement in 2017. Flo enjoyed spending time with family and friends; sharing a cup of coffee in her kitchen or a meal at her favorite restaurants. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Phil in his tractor trailer and on their boat on the Mohawk River. Flo will always be remembered for her big heart and tell it like it is attitude.

Florence is predeceased by her husband Phillip. Brothers, Freeman and Richard VanAlstyne. Sisters Ethel Mae and Patricia VanAlstyne.

Florence is survived by her son Robert (Paulette) Tomisman. Grandchildren Heather (Erin) Blackwell, Robert Tomisman. Great-grandchildren Alexander, William and Paul. Siblings Kenneth VanAlstyne, Karen Hooks, Diane Ortiz, William VanAlstyne, Debra Corcione, Bonnie Vogel. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours 4-6pm on May 2,2024 followed by 6pm service held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road Colonie NY, 12205. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations can be made to the COPD Foundation.
