LOUDONVILLE, NY – Floyd J. Hill, 89, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Massena, NY, he was the son of the late James and Ellen Hill. He was an Albany area resident for all of his life. Mr. Hill was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country during World War II. He was a foreman at the Watervliet Arsenal from where he retired. Mr. Hill was a member of Trinity Church, the Wadsworth Lodge #417 Free & Accepted Masons and the Early Engine Club. Floyd is the beloved husband of nearly 65 years to Marjorie Avery Hill. He is the devoted father of Joan (Eric) Jensen and Gail (William) Farrell. He is the cherished grandfather of Laura (Kurtis) Habecker, Karen (Nathan) Tinsley, Mark (Nicole) Ambuhl, Brian (Victoria) Ambuhl, and John (Susan Dunckel) Ambuhl. Also surviving are seven loving great-grandchildren. Floyd was predeceased by his brother, Ralph W. Hill.
Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Floyd J. Hill.
