Guilderland- Forrest Charles Mance III, 69, entered into the eternal rest of the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2007 after a long illness. Forrest was a Principal Statistics Clerk with the NYS Department of Health retiring in 1995. He loved to fly fish in the Kinderhook and Ausable Creeks. Forrest enjoyed taking vacations to Maine and Cape Cod with his wife, the only love of his life. He was a friend of Bill W. In 1992, he had a profound encounter with Jesus Christ, an experience that changed him forever. Forrest became a source of God's light and loving presence to everyone who crossed his path. He attended two Promise Keepers Conferences in Buffalo and Syracuse with his sons. He was a member of Victory Christian Church since 1999, and dearly loved his extended church family. He deeply loved his dog Missy and his son's dog spike.
The family wishes to extend its profound gratitude to the Caring compassionate staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their kindness to Forrest during his time there.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Mae (Curtis) Mance, his sons, Mark and Don (Mandi), his sister Jean Monette and his nephews Richard and Scott Monette.
