Frances A. Gonsowski, 96, of Schenectady passed away at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on January 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 7, 1918 in Hartford, CT. Her family moved to the Stockade area of Schenectady in 1928.
Frances worked as a medical secretary at Ellis Hospital and held several other jobs including catering, owning two restaurants of her own and elderly care.
Survivors include her four children Norman Podrazik (Cheryl) of Mesa, AZ, Larry Parks of Schenectady, Paul Gonsowski of Schenectady and Barbara Mlodzianowski (Gary) of Burnt Hills; seven grandchildren Todd Podrazik, Tracy Podrazik, Sonny St. Onge, Norman Podrazik, Jr, Darin Podrazik (Linda) and Caryn and Heather Mlodzianowski and nine great grandchildren. Frances was predeceased by her parents Anthony & Anna Grzywna; husbands Ed Podrazik and Paul Gonsowski; five siblings Peter, Joseph and Walter Grzywna, Helen Napiorski and Sophie Sendzicki. Frances is also predeceased by two nephews Thomas Napiorski and Michael Grzywna.
A memorial mass to celebrate Frances life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 10 A.M. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302. At the families requests there will be no calling hours. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frances's memory to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302 or Eddy Senior Care, 504 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 or Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 526 Altamont Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12303.
