Frances A. May

Grafton- Frances A. May, 67, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 18, 2016. She was born in Troy on May 25, 1949 to the late Alfred A. and Helen M. (Storm) May.

Frances graduated from Troy High School in 1969 and went on to work for the New York State Department of Parks and Recreation for 23 years at Grafton Lakes State Park. She is also credited with designing the Grafton town seal. Frances was a member of the Grafton Senior Center as well as a member of the Grafton Historical Society. She loved creating art- especially painting and had a great knowledge of history.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth and Alfreda, and brother, George.

Frances is survived by her siblings, Helen M. Bulson, John and Sharon May, Paul T. May, Una M. Blanchard, and Geraldine May; her uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Interment will be on Friday at 9am at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Troy.
