Schenectady- Frances B. Coons, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Fran was born in Schenectady, NY on September 7, 1925 to the late Eric and Frances Wiklund. On February 13, 1944 Fran married the love of her life, William E. Coons. They were married for 37 years until his passing. Together they raised six children. Fran will be remembered as a loving and caring mother who always thought of others first. Her passion in life was her faith in the Lord.
Fran is predeceased by her husband, William, her daughters, Valerie and Virginia, and her twin brother, Eric.
She is survived by her children, William (Barbara) Coons, Frank (Sandra) Coons, Susan (Chris) Pantuosco, and Linda Thatcher, her 17 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Life Ministries Church, 1858 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304, on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1:30pm-2:30pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Fran's name to Schenectady Hospice, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308
