ALBANY - Frances E. Slaughter, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011. Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Marguerite Reeder.
She was a member of New Covenant Christian Fellowship.
Frances was married to the late William Slaughter. She was predeceased by two children, Barbara Johnson and Leslie Slaughter; three sisters, and a brother.
Frances is survived by 8 children; Veronica Mott, Dana (James) Kornegay, Denise (Leroy) Arrington, Michelle Starling, Sharon Slaughter, William Slaughter, Jr., Michael (Gwen) Slaughter, and Gregory (Leah) Slaughter, and a sister, Helen Reeder. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many long time friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday at Wilborn Temple First COGIC, 121 Jay Street. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment is in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
