SCHENECTADY - Frances C. Ennis, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Schenectady Center for Rehab and Nursing, following a period of declining health. Fran was born in Plattsburgh, NY on March 21, 1940 to Walter Hunt and Clara Demearse.
Fran is survived by her daughters, Patricia Jacobucci (Fernando Bautista) and Tina George, sons James Alden, Joseph Ennis and stepson, Darrell Ennis. In addition, she leaves behind extended biological family members, Viki and Sophie Schrager. Fran also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan George, Samantha Jacobucci, Haley and Chase Ennis. She adored her great-grandchildren, Myla and Molly George, Easton Collins, Nora and Memphis George. Fran was predeceased by her brother, Walter Hunt.
Fran graduated from Pittsfield High School. She worked for the State of New York for several years. She became a homemaker when she married. Fran worked in her later years for Price Chopper Supermarkets as a bagging assistant quickly making conversations with every customer she encountered. Upon retirement, Fran spent much of her time socializing at the Eddy Senior Care Day Program and going on day trips with her best friend, Joan. She moved to the Schenectady Center and continued her social activities with the other residents. Fran loved arts and crafts and was an amazing artist.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff of Schenectady Center for their great care and compassion while Fran was a resident. Special thanks to all the aides of Eddy Senior Care who took such great care of her for many years during their home visits.
Visitors are invited to New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY on Saturday, October 7 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2pm at the funeral home.
