Frances C. Gross

Frances C. Gross, 76, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehab with her loving family by her side. Fran was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah Snyder.

Fran was the devoted wife to the late David C. Gross, Sr.. They were married 52 loving years. 

Fran was a member of the Choir and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She spent over 30 years working at Hope 7 community center in Troy, NY. She was dedicated, at any cost to helping raise the youth of Troy and surrounding areas. Mrs. Gross as she was known by the kids was kind, giving and patient with the countless children whose lives she so gratefully touched. 

Fran enjoyed knitting, vacations with the family to Maine and Cape Cod. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her grandchildren which usually meant cooking, crafting or coloring. Fran was a loving mother of her three children and four grandchildren. Additionally her care for any child that came into her life was immeasurable. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph Gross and her sister Sue Casale and her brother Arthur Snyder.

Fran is survived by her children, Amy (Walter) Rockenstire and David (Lesley) Gross; her four grandchildren, Teaghan, Logan, Penelope and Conrad; her siblings; Mary (Bill) Haselope, Charles (Debbie) Snyder, David (Kitty) Snyder and Diana Snyder, her sister-in-law Eva Snyder and brother-in-laws, Pat Casale and Thomas (Barbara) Gross; and many loving relatives and friends.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. There will be a private graveside service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 in Fran's memory.
