Frances (Frania) Kolach Kazmierczak, 86
Colonie. Frances 'Frania' Kolach Kazmierczak, 86, of Red Fox Drive, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice with her loving son and daughter at her side. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Marianna Kolach and devoted wife for 61 years of the late John 'Jasiu' Kazmierczak.
Though born in Albany, Frances returned to Poland as an infant with her family. There she married John and together they raised a daughter and a son. The family emigrated to the United States in 1962. She and John worked hard to attain the American dream. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a loving grandmother 'Babci' and great-grandmother. Frances was a great cook, known especially her delicious pierogi, kapusta, beet soup, and many tasty Polish delicacies. She worked for many years at the Albany Memorial Hospital.
Frances is survived by her children, daughter Harriet 'Jadz' Allen of Colonie who cared for her with love, devotion and grace, and her loving son Mark 'Marek' (Mary) of Troy; grandchildren Tammy (Dave) Herr, John (Danielle) Allen, John (Jennifer) Kazmierczak, Michael Kazmierczak, and Jennifer Kazmierczak; and 5 grandchildren Kayleigh and Joey Herr, and Jonah, Markus, and Anya Kazmierczak as well as several nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Kolach, John (Catherine) Kolach, and by her brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Margaret Kolach.
Family and friends may call at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, Wednesday March 30th from 11:00 a.m. to Noon with a service to follow immediately at Noon. The Reverend Mark Gnidzinski of Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Church will officiate. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
