Frances M. Barone, 85, passed away on December 9, 2014 at the Evergreen Commons Nursing Home, East Greenbush, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born on October 22, 1929 in Pleasantville, NY, daughter to the late Mary and Frank Barone. Franny loved spending weekends at her camp and cooking Sunday meals for her family and friends. Frances was retired from the City of Albany and First Prize Tobin Packing.
Predeceased by her brothers Frank (Annabell) and Joseph Barone and her sister Josephine (Louis) VanBaaren. Fran is survived by her sister-in-law Joan Barone and a host of nieces and nephews.
Caregiver and niece Christine VanBaaren would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Evergreen Commons for their exceptional care, love and support during this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 12, 2014 9 A.M. at The Church of Saint Clare 1947 Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road Albany. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Fran's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
Arrangements have been entrusted to New Comer Funeral Home, Albany.
