Frances A. Nash Lemieur, 90, died peacefully on June 12, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Fran was born July 24, 1932 in Troy, NY to the late Edward and Viola (Genski) Deskewies.
Fran grew up in Latham, NY and graduated from Watervliet High School. She met and married her first love, Walter M. Nash in 1952. They went on to have three children together and Fran was a stay-at-home mother. When Walt died suddenly in 1969, Fran had to go to work (Norton Company in Watervliet, NY) to support herself and her three children. She was an amazing mother.
Fran got a second chance at love when she met and married, Joseph A. Lemieur in 1975. Together they dined, danced and traveled. Their favorite destinations were Montreal/Quebec and Aruba. They were avid fans of the RPI Men's Hockey team and held season tickets for many years. They had a wonderful and fun life together. Joe passed away in 2013. Christmas Eve's at their house, with the entire family, will be fondly remembered by all with the outrageous number of gifts she gave to her grandchildren.
Fran is survived by her three children, Linda (Edward) Austin, Michael (Kathy) Nash and Ann Harris; her grandchildren, David Austin, Peter (Sara) Austin, Amber (Thomas) Murley, Katherine Cole, Michelle Nash, Ashley (Jeffrey) Eaton; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces survive her.
She was pre-deceased by her husbands, Walter M. Nash and Joseph A. Lemieur; her sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Pauline Urso; her grandchildren, Sarah A. Nash and Paul W. Austin; and her son-in-law, Gregory Harris.
The family would like to thank the nurses and medical staff on the 5th Floor at Samaritan Hospital for taking excellent care of our mom. We are so grateful for the compassion and kindness shown, not only to our mom, but to us as well.
