SCHENECTADY- Francesco "Frank" Monarchio, 96, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the loving care of Emilia (Amy) Comproski and Mark Porto.
Frank was born on August 10, 1919, to the late Samuel and Philomena Monarchio, in Calabria, Italy. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. He was a WWII Veteran serving his country in the Army. Frank was a talented Artist and Fashion Designer.
Frank is predeceased by siblings; Anthony Monarch, Elizabeth Garufy, Josephine Campchero, Charles Monarch, Helen Doin and Lawrence Monarch.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was a happy, gentle man with a infectious personality and we miss him and his smile greatly.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Monday, May 16, 2016 A private family viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00. A memorial hour with closed casket will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Schenectady.
In keeping with Frank's wishes in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
