Francis G. Von Fricken

Francis G. Von Fricken, 80, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014, at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters, with his family by his side. Francis was born in Troy, NY to the late Edward and Rena Von Fricken.

Francis was a mechanic for over 17 years with Ed Marshallock Mobil Station; he was employed with GE for over 28 years and was an active member with the Local 301 union. He also owned and operated The Stepping Stone Inn in Troy for 8 years. He was a member of the Colonie Elks 2192 and with the S. W. Pitts Hose Co. in Latham.

In addition to his parents Francis was predeceased by his five brothers and one sister.

Francis is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Teresa (Polnak) Von Fricken; he is the cherished father of Judi (Joseph) Griego, Michael (Deborah) Von Fricken, Ronald (Jacqueline) Von Fricken, Francis II "Jerry" (Anna) Von Fricken and Benjamin (Miranda) Von Fricken. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens.
