Francis Gilder

Francis "Sonny" Gilder, 90, passed away passed away peacefully on September 2, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Albany. He was the son of the late William and MaryAnn (Kindlon) Gilder.
Sonny worked for SUNY NYS, retiring in 1980s.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings; Katherine Baker, Patricia Sullivan, Mary Ann Gilder, Josephine Kocienski, Eileen Dembroksy, Christine Dzikas and Joseph Gilder.
Sonny is survived by his wife Janice Gilder of over 55 years; his brother-in-laws George (Sharon Rose) Schroeder and Raymond (Dieatra) Herbst. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff with the Brookdale East Niskayuna - Brookdale Senior Living for all of the care and compassion given to Sonny.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens.
