Albany – Francis J. Hoffman, Sr., 78, died Thursday June 5, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Francis was born in Albany the son of the late Howard and Emma Hoffman. He attended Albany public schools and graduated from CBA. Francis was veteran of the US Navy, having served 1944-1945. Francis was a very hard working man who started as an operating engineer with Local 106 Operating Engineers and later worked for City of
Albany with the Department of General Services.
He is survived by his children; William (Jean) Hoffman, Brian (Kimberly) Hoffman, Joanne (Michael) Fitzpatrick, Catherine (James) Laverty, Michael Hoffman and Judith (Lance) Valderamma, his sister Lorraine (Frank) Thompson, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his two children; Francis J. Hoffman, Jr. and Jody Ann Hoffman.
The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurses Association and the entire staff at Albany Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and especially Dr. Catherine North.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 7:00pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.
