Francis G. La Plante

Francis "Tiff" G. La Plante Sr. of Cohoes went to sleep in the hands of the Lord on December 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Arthur and Eudora La Plante. He is also predeceased by his brother, Joseph La Plante.

Tiff loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, bowling and going for jaunts on his motorcycle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy A. La Plante (Godfrey). He is also survived by his children, Barbara and Francis (Leigh) La Plante, grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Zachary, Andrew and Joshua and great grandchild, Liam Francis Scott Pickett, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 23rd at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, from 10 to 12, with a funeral service immediately following at the funeral home. Burial will take place after the service at Memory Gardens.

The family requests no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
