Colonie- Francis M. "Frank" Hannan, 82, passed away on March 31, 2016. Born on December 9, 1933 in Mechanicville, NY, he was the son of the late Patrick Hannan and Rose (Callahan) Hannan. He was also predeceased by his brother William Hannan, his sister Rosemary (Hannan) Murray and brother-in-law John McEnroe. Frank served in the US Army and while stationed in Georgia, he met and married his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine Crosby Hannan. A railroad enthusiast, he worked for the D & H Railroad and Amtrak, along with National Lead and GAF. He retired in 1999. For many years, he enjoyed his hobby model railroading and had a gift for telling stories that always had people laughing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Crosby) Hannan; his son Joseph (Christine) Hannan; his daughters: Laura Hodlin and Patricia (Stephen) LeFebrve; his grandchildren: Meg (Christopher Clarke), Madeline and David Hannan, Jennifer (Arom) Campbell and Gregory (Lauren Calicchia) Hodlin; his great-granddaughter Cheyenne Campbell; his sister, Patricia McEnroe; his brother Joseph (Dottie) Hannan and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, April 3 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 4 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
