GUILDERLAND – Francis W. (Bud) Mons, 80, of Guilderland, formerly of Cohoes, died Sunday, August 14, 2005. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late James A. and Florida Bellanger Mons. He graduated from La Salle Institute and in 1950 from Siena College. Bud was a disabled veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre of Operations. From 1973 to 1983, he served as Director of Agency Fiscal Services in the Office of General Services. He previously worked in various administrative fiscal positions in several New York State agencies. At the time of his retirement in 1983, he had completed 35 years of service with New York State. Bud was a member of the Guilderland Elks Lodge #2480 and the Disabled American Veterans Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Gendron Mons and his son, Donald J. Mons. Survivors include his son, Brian Edward Mons of Naugatuck, CT; his grandchildren, Derek Mons and Melissa and Meghan Mons and his great-granddaughter, Charlotte. Also surviving is his sister, Nora Beauregard of New Smyrna, FL.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 50 Colvin Avenue, Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Francis W. Mons.
