Albany- Frank A. Russo, Sr., 79, passed into eternal life on Monday, January 29, 2007, at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Anthony and Felicia Russo. A restaurateur most of his life Frank had owned and operated a number of Restaurants in the area. He was a member of the Italian American Club as well as the Democratic Club. The most important part of Frank's life was his family. He enjoyed many hours spent with his children, grandchildren and brothers and sisters. Frank is predeceased by his wife of over 25 years Joyce Russo.
Frank is survived by his children Gregg (Kathy) Russo of Ballston Spa, Frank A. Russo, Jr. of Clearwater, Fl; stepchildren, Brenda (Bill) Van Wormer of Clifton Park, Carol Spencer of Albany and Michael Koslowsky of Saratoga Springs, and three granddaughters, Joanna, Samantha and Erica. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Virginia LaMalfa of Ballston Spa, Robert (Mary Ellen) of Fort Edward, Josephine (Joseph) Fazzone of Rotterdam and Americo (Lorraine) Russo of St. Petersburgh, FL, several nieces, nephews, a special cousin Tony Muzzi and his close friends Pat Rocco and Michael Longo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, 12205 in memory of Frank A.
