Frank Brisk

Frank Brisk of Schenectady, New York passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank was born on July 25, 1934, in Listuguj, Canada. He lived his life as a proud member of the Mi'gmaq First Nation and was raised on First Nation values. It was these beginnings that he worked alongside his father and brothers and learned the skills that would later turn him into a Master Carpenter. At age 17, Frank made the decision to leave Listuguj and come to the United States to pursue his dreams.

Frank had a great passion for music and was an accomplished guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Frank wrote two songs "Long Lonely Road" and "Crazy Ways" which were published by Rainbow Records. Above all things he enjoyed throughout his life, he loved and cherished making music with his brothers, whom all remained close no matter where life brought them.

As a young man, Frank found Love and built a beautiful family whom he loved dearly. Frank would light up the room with his smile and famous dad jokes. Frank shared his musical talent with his family Every gathering, birthday party, and holidays were never complete without a performance.

Frank will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Frank is pre-deceased by his parents John Brisk and Mary Ann (Vicaire) Brisk. Brothers Alex, Gilbert, Robert, Vincent, Walter, Bob Brisk and his sister Linda, all of Listuguj. Son Frankie Brisk and his wife of 52 years Bonnie Brisk.

Frank is survived by his brother Melvin Brisk of Listuguj, Canada. Children Dean Brisk (Tracie), Donna Brisk Endres (William), Lisa Brisk Walsh (Ronald), Gregory Brisk. Grandchildren Jessica Chiarello (Paul), Ronald Walsh III, Dion Brisk, Derek Faragon (Alycia), Nicholas Smith (Robin). Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews whom he adored and loved dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 11-1PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205 with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306.
