COHOES – Frank C. Selke, 57, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, at the Diamond Hill Nursing Home, after a long courageous battle with MS, through which he never lost his sense of humor.
Frank was born on October 23, 1954 in Albany and is the son of Raymond C. Selke Jr. and the late Irene E. Hulsopple Selke. He worked as an electrician for the NYS Department of OGS at the Empire State Building. He was an avid sports fan with a special affinity for the Yankees and the Raiders. He was also a former member of the Bethlehem Elks.
In addition to his father, Frank is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer J. Selke; his brothers, Michael C. Selke (Nicole) and Raymond C. Selke III (Sherri); his sister, Donna I. Nissen (the late Ronald); his former spouse, Janet Selke and several aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Diamond Hill Nursing Home and the staff at Community Hospice of Rensselaer for their care and concern given to Frank.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Frank C. Selke.
