Frank A. Conley

Colonie- Frank A. Conley passed away on October 30, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born December 2, 1935 the oldest son of Frank and Mary Ruth (Derbyshire) Conley of Albany, NY, Frank was one of nine children.

After graduating from Catholic Central High he joined the US Navy Reserves in 1953 spending the next twelve years with the reserves as a SeaBee Construction Electrician. That same year saw him accepting a position with the State of New York starting what would become a lifetime career. On November 18, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart Marta Chueca and was blessed with five children.

While working full time and raising his family Frank returned to his education and obtained a Bachelors degree from Russell Sage College. After receiving his undergraduate degree in 1972, Frank elected to take several addition graduate level classes at Albany University that both captured his interest and facilitated his growth into the position of Assistant Chief Budget Examiner for New York's Division of the Budget. In 1980 he transfer to the NYS Department of Commerce as the Assistant Commissioner for Administration before transferring to the Office of General Service and retiring in 1992 completing his 39 year career with the State.

He is survived by his wife Marta, their son Michael, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, grandsons Brian and Dennis, their daughter Maura Conley, grandsons Keith and Sean, daughter Michele (Conley) Bartholomew, son Mark, and daughter Nadine. He is also survived by his sister Beverly and her husband William Lorenz, his brother Robert and his wife Patricia, sister-in-law Mary Anne Conley, brother George, sister Sandra and her husband Michael Tommaney, brother Thomas and his wife Diane, his brother Kevin and his wife Cindy, and his brother Timothy and his wife Sandra along with many nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his sister-in-law Arlene, brother Richard, sister-in-law Laurie, son-in-law Timothy Bartholomew and grandsons Douglas and Justin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2:00-4:30pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. A funeral service will begin following visitation at 4:30pm. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
