COLONIE – Frank J. Addario, Sr., passed away on Friday, December 11, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angelina Addario. Franks served his country in the U.S. Army, Navy and Coast Guard. He worked for the Federal Railroad and then as a Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service from where he retired. While working for the railroad, Frank also ran his own barber shop. He was a member of both the Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 and the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. Frank enjoyed carpentry, camping, traveling and singing and playing the banjo. Frank was the beloved husband of 66 years to the late Rose E. Addario. He is the devoted father of Joseph F. (Maria Ventura) Addario, Anthony J. Addario, Frank J. (Jackie) Addario, Jr., David J. Addario and Linda R. Addario. He is the loving brother of John (Leona) Addario and Augustine (Marie) Addario. Frank is the cherished grandfather of Joseph Jr., Martha, Angelina, Kyle and John. He is the great-grandfather of David, Robert, Taylor, Alexandria and Brian. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
