LOUDONVILLE – Frank J. Bacher, 86, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital. He was born in Watervliet and was the son of the late Thomas C. and Anna Miller Bacher.
Frank was the Director of Transportation for Cluett, Peabody and Company in Troy for thirty five years, retiring in 1989. As a result of Frank's transportation expertise, he proudly served with the National Defense Transportation Association. Frank was commissioned on several occasions to Washington D.C. to consult with military officers and personnel.
He was predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law Frank J. Jr. and Cindy Bacher, and their son Ryan, and his daughter and son-in-law Paula and Robert DeJonge. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Esmond Bacher. Frank is the devoted father of Thomas (Annmarie) Bacher. He is the cherished grandfather of Alissa DeJonge, Clark Whitney, James Bacher and Aimee Bacher.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon fro 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
