LOUDONVILLE- Frank J. Looney, 91, of Loudonville, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Harriet M. Looney. Frank served in the 101st Airborne Division of the Screaming Eagles during World War II. While in the Army, he was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and the Invasion of Normandy. Frank was the proprietor of the Ye Olde Tavern in Albany from 1948 to 1970. He then worked for the Albany County Clerk's Office for twenty years, retiring just a few months ago. Frank was a longtime member of the Albany Elks #49 and North Albany American Legion #1610.

Frank is the beloved father of Maureen P. (Mike) Haggerty and William F. (Rose) Looney. He is the brother of the late Elizabeth Van Amburgh and William Looney. Frank is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. James Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Frank J.
