COLONIE – Frank P. Morales, 77, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at his home. Born in the Bronx, he moved to Albany in 1941 and attended Albany Catholic schools. He was the son of the late Frank Morales and Alice De Arellanos Morales. Frank was a Korean War veteran and was honorably discharged in 1956. Soon after leaving the service, he was employed at Eastern Greyhound Lines for twelve years as a terminal auditor. A former leasing manager, he spent the next fifteen years in the automobile leasing business. He was employed at John D. Wendell Inc. and various other dealerships where he officially retired in 1999. Frank was also employed on a part time basis since 1970 with R. J. Smith Inc., a retail liquor store where he served in various capacities. He considered R. J. Smith his second career where he officially retired in January of 2009. Frank enjoyed reading, watching movies, music, gardening and dancing. He also tried his hand at pen and pencil sketching and woodworking. Many relaxing hours were spent in this endeavor. Frank is the father of Sharon (Bob) Volk of Clifton Park, Brian (Valerie) Morales of Niskayuna and Lynnette (Scott) Shanahan of Berlin. He is the grandfather of Brandon and Brianna Morales, Kristen and Bobby Volk and Emily and Tommy Shanahan. Also surviving is his sister, Judy Orner of Albany and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit, 319 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Frank Morales.
