Albany- Frank A. Szemplinski, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Frank, Sr. and Veronica Szemplinski. Frank was the devoted husband to the late Carol A. VanWormer-Szemplinski. They were married 54 years.
After graduating from High School in 1966, Frank worked at Tobin's First Prize in Albany, New York until there closing. He worked many jobs before he retired from Freihofers in 1993.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his entire family, especially his sons. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed repairing cars as well as going to Flea Markets with Carol. After Carols passing, Frank enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Livingston School Apartments reminiscing about their younger years growing up in Albany, New York.
Frank is survived by his sons; Frank (Sheri) Szemplinski, III, John (Sandra) Szemplinski, and Shane (Carm) Szemplinski; grandchildren, Justin, Haylie, Cameron, Rocco, Alexis, Ruby, and Rhett; brothers, Charles and Vince Szemplinski; his beloved cat, Zero; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Frank is predeceased by his brother, Alex Szemplinski.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a service to begin at 11:30 am. Burial will follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery.
