ALBANY – Franklin E. Peter, 75, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Arnold Peter, Sr. and Beulah Haines, and brother of the late Arnold Peter Jr. After graduation from Maple Hill High School, Frank entered the Army and was stationed in Korea. After completing service to his country, Frank worked at the Castleton Elementary School and then spent thirty-six years with the New York State Library. Upon his retirement, he spent nearly ten years proudly serving as a volunteer on the USS Slater in Albany.


Frank is the devoted brother of Fred (Dianne) Peter. He is the cherished uncle of Daniel (Susan), Michael and Kevin Peter, Ruth Mary (Brian Motyka) and Michelle Peter and great-uncle of Kathleen Dianne Peter and Anthony Peter Motyka. Also surviving is his longtime dear friend, Marie Lostritto and his close friends, Rich and Jerry.


Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
