Selkirk-Franklin E. Van Ness, 67, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice with his loving family by his side.
Frank was born in Catskill, NY to the late Frank and Louetta Van Ness on February 3, 1950 and he graduated from high school in Oregon. He was an employee of GE in Selkirk for over 15 years. Frank was a loyal employee for Oldcastle PreCast where he worked as a carpenter. He will be greatly missed by all of his coworkers. Frank will be remembered for his love of dragstrip racing, and working with his hands. He was a gifted craftsman, and painter. In 1987 Frank married the love of his life, Robin. They were married for 30 years.
Frank is predeceased by his brother, Duane Van Ness.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Van Ness, his children, Michael Van Ness, Kelly Suhr, and Jessica Van Ness, his grandchildren, Libby, Reilley, Molly, and Laney, his sister, Effie (Imon) Waugh, and a host of family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 4:00pm-7:00pm with a service to immediately follow.
