Fred Vito Gullinese, 84, born January 16, 1938 in Albany to the late Thomas P. Gullinese and Margaret Gullinese (Dilillo), passed away Monday September 19, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Raised on Myrtle Avenue, he attended Philip Schuyler high school. After school, Fred proudly served in the United States Marine Corps From July 1955 to July 1959, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
After a series of jobs following his service, Fred went to work for the Ford Motor Company in Green Island in the early 1960s and worked there until he retired in 1988 when the plant closed. In retirement, he worked part time for a number of years for the Picotte Company and for the Town of Colonie Golf Course where he played religiously.
He was also passionate about baseball and his Yankees were his favorite. For a number of years, Fred was an elder at the New Hope Gospel Fellowship Church in Schenectady where he and his wife Frances ran a prayer ministry.
Fred is survived by his wife Frances Gullinese (Allegra) of 61 years, his son Peter Gullinese and Peter's wife Marcy Gullinese (Frank), his son Michael Gullinese and his daughter Nicole Gullinese-Pompilio and her husband Frank Pompilio, as well as his two wonderful grandchildren, Thomas Gullinese (son of Peter & Marcy) and Davia Gullinese (daughter of Nicole Gullinese).
