SCOTIA – Fred Miller Jr., 90, of Scotia, passed away on Friday December 25, 2009 after a brief illness. He was born in Witherbee, NY and was the son of the late Fred and Teresa Miller.
Fred served in the US Army during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a part of General McArthur's troops and proud of his dedicated military service. Fred worked for Salisbury Chevrolet for many years. He was instrumental in the organization of the South Schenectady Ambulance Corp. Fred was past president of the South Schenectady Fire Dept and the Rotterdam Republican Club. He was Past Commander and Life member of VFW Post 1895.
Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helene Graubart Miller. He is the father of Fred G. (Sandra) Miller. Grandfather of Jeffrey Miller and Beth (Carl) Birman. Great grandfather of Jared Birman. He is the brother of Richard (Bonnie) Miller and the late Catherine Russo, Irwin Miller and Charles Miller.
