Freda I. Burdo, passed away peacefully at the age of 96, on April 13, 2017.
Freda was born in Lake Placid and this is where she met the love of her life, Herbert. They moved to Schenectady, where they started their family. Freda was always known to others as a hard worker. She took pride in her work. Freda cleaned houses for local physicians and attorneys in Schenectady.
Freda's most treasured times was making memories with her family. Singing along and clapping to the music of her multi-talented children who are musicians. Her greatest love was to hear her daughter Barbara and sons, Robert, Richard, Harold, Larry and Donald as they sang and held family jam sessions at her home. Freda also loved spending time traveling back to Lake Placid to have summer barbeque cookouts at her brother and sister-in-law's house, Kurt and Gladys. Camping in the Adirondacks with family was another love of Freda's.
Until Freda's passing, she resided with her daughter Barbara who became her primary caretaker. Barbara delivered unconditional love, compassion and would make Freda laugh with her funny jokes and comical gestures. Freda was very witty and always had the best comeback lines. Freda always loved to cook her famous macaroni soup for everyone and her favorite dessert was tapioca pudding.
