Freda Chiofalo

GLENMONT – Freda Chiofalo, 90, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 at The Hospice Inn of St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Freda was born on August 22, 1920 in Albany and was the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Ferwerda) Bogard. She worked for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. She played violin for the Albany Symphony and enjoyed drawing, gardening and animals, especially her pets. She was a lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Freda is survived by her loving children, Peggy A. (Henry) Ramnes and Joshua B. Chiofalo; her daughter-in-law, Esther Chiofalo; her cherished granddaughters, Juanita Zuend (Tim), Heather Hansen (Casey), Laura Abel (Joe), Fawn Schaperjahn (Joel), and Ashley Ramnes; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B. Chiofalo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God with a calling hour prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Vale Cemetery, Schenectady.
