COLONIE-Frederick A. Lahman , 95, of Colonie passed peacefully to his heavenly father on Friday, February 27, at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center, Delmar. Born in 1919, Frederick was the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Vigars) Lahman. He was a devoted husband for 62 years to the late Lillian (Hoffman) Lahman. Brother to the late Dorothy (Lahman) Anderson.
After 27 years, Fred retired in 1981 as a supervisor of custodians from the South Colonie Central Schools. He also worked 17 years as welder for the NYCRR. Fred was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church since 1940. He had served as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, elder and usher. He was a member of the Colonie Chapter 2873 of the AARP where he served as past president and treasurer. Past treasurer of the Colonie Leisure Club at Roesselville. A past member of the West Albany Fire Company #2.
Survivors include two loving and devoted daughters, Altona (Toni) Cramer of North Colonie and Judith Miller of Colonie; six grandchildren, Donna (Mark) Sharer, Donald Cramer, Scott (Maureen) Miller, Beverly Miller-VanGuysling, Daniel (Angela) Cramer, and Deana (Russell) Antonacci; eleven great grandchildren, Tonya (Alex), Taylor, Cheyenne, Ethan, Jordan, Lindsey, Matthew, Timothy, Ryan, Jacob and Anna. Also survived by several nieces and nephew.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan for the loving care, friendship and support given to Fred and daughters. A special thank you is extended to Pastor Paul Koehn, Tom Reomke, Tony Zuelsdorf, and Deacon Dave Vail for their continued faithful support to Fred.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be on Monday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 63 Mountain View Avenue, Albany, NY. Calling hours will be at the church Sunday from 4:30 until 7:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
