DELMAR - Frederick A. Wagoner passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was 78 years old.
Fred was born on June 8, 1937 in Albany, New York and was the son of the late Peter and Margaret Wagoner. He graduated from Albany High School in 1955 and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Architecture) in 1963. Fred proudly served in the United States Army from 1959-1961.
During his professional career, Fred was an architect with several firms in the Capital District, including: Toole and Angerame, Lux & Quackenbush, and Dodge Chamberlin Luzine Weber. A highlight of his career was as a partner at his architecture firm Quackenbush, Wagoner & Reynolds. Some of Fred's most important projects included being lead architect for major renovations and expansions at Albany Memorial Hospital, St. Peter's Hospital in Albany and St. Mary's Hospital in Troy.
Fred enjoyed spending time with family and friends, travel, sports, history, nature and gardening. He will be remembered for his personal and professional integrity and dedication, and as a loving husband and father.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Anna Maria, and his sister, Laura Fortier.
Fred is survived by his son, Gregory of San Francisco, CA and his sisters, Beverly Schermerhorn of Wildwood, FL, Judith Strobeck of Keene, NY, and his nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held at Memory Gardens in Colonie at the convenience of the family.
