Frederick J. Norvik

Latham- Frederick J. Norvik, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Colonie Manor Nursing Home. Born in Colonie, he was the son of the late Jalmar and Elizabeth Norvik. Frederick was a graduate of Watervliet High School and went on to receive his Masters Degree from R.P.I. He went on to teach and was a Professor Emeritus at R.P.I. for 40 years. Frederick enjoyed photography, traveling and was an avid amateur radio operator. He was a member of the MARS program and past member of the Colonie Elks Lodge for 40 years. Frederick is predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Evelyn Norvik, his daughter Carolyn Papa and his sister Sylvia Leininger.
Frederick is survived by his son Robert (Maryann) Norvik of Ormond Beach, FL, his sister Mildred (Lawrence) Riley of Newtonville, and his grandchildren Jeffrey and Jason Papa and James and Jill Norvik. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Edward Leininger of East Schodack, his son-in-law Joseph Papa of AZ, and his daughter-in-law Dorothy Norvik of Latham.
