COLONIE- Frederick C. Klapp, 82, of Colonie, passed away on Friday February 23, 2007 at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Mathias and Edna Klapp.
Fred was WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theatre. He worked for Mohawk Brush Company, Dudley Observatory and most recently as a machinist at RPI, retiring in 1987. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post#1256. He enjoyed golf, lawn care and working with stained glass.
He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Lois Lubner Klapp. He is the father of Keith (Sue) Klapp and Paul (Gwen) Klapp. Fred is the brother of Mathias (Joy) Klapp and the cherished grandfather of Matthew, David and Jordan Klapp. He is also survived by a niece and a nephew.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1 Marcus Blvd. Albany NY 12205 in memory of Frederick C. Klapp. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Newcomerfamily.com
