ROTTERDAM – Frederick J. Mango, Jr. 74, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007, after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Frederick and Theresa Mango. He was an Albany resident for most of his life. Mr. Mango was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He worked for Albany Medical Center Hospital for many years before his retirement. Fred enjoyed politics, and was especially interested in President John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan. Fred is the beloved husband of 31 years to Bernice (Carbonare) Mango. He is the stepfather of Esther (Robert) Nati, Patricia (George) Davis and the late Ann Barton. He is the brother of Alice Galluzzo and the late Irene Mango. He is the step-grandfather of Robert Barton, Jr., Carl Barton and Daniel Davis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Vincent Galluzzo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday evening at 6:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 – south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be Friday morning at 9:00 in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
