COLONIE – Frederick D. McGue, 75, passed away on Sunday May 29, 2022 at St. Peter's Hospice after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Albany on October 6, 1946 a son of the late Frederick and Anne (Gecewicz) McGue and graduated from Albany High School.
Fred was a police officer for many years than became a Detective for Albany Police Dept. He retired after twenty-five years of service.
He enjoyed woodworking, artistic painting, fishing and relaxing at his camp on Eagle Lake.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Quinn and Elizabeth McGue.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Marx) McGue; his three children, Brenda Shea, Ann Greiner, David (Audra) McGue; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony, Hayley, Alex, Joey and Christopher; 2 great grandchildren, Cole and Joey and his four-legged friend, "Ski".
Visiting hours will be held from 4 pm to 7pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 7 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
