Albany, New York- Fredericka A Richardson McLeod, affectionately known as Ann ,83, passed peacefully on June 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born September 6, 1933 in Auburn, New York to the late Frederick Emerson and Rose Elizabeth Dale Richardson. She attended Auburn Public Schools and lived most of her life in Auburn , New York until moving to Albany. She was a member of Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church and attended Sojourner Truth AME Zion Church in Albany.
Ann married David Clarence McLeod in Auburn, New York and from this union they had 14 children. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, children Lance, Frederick and Darlene, son in-laws Reverend Robert E Kealon, Dewitt Walker also a niece Stacy Jo Richardson.
She is survived by her children David (Angelina), Leslie (Barbara) E Christine, Alicia, Gloria, Tracy (Gwen), Jody, Jamie (Latoya), Grantley (Joyce), Terrance (Latrina), Andrea (Diane), daughter in-law Debbie McLeod, one sister Gloria Richardson Griffin, and her children Robin and Phredi, sister in-laws Lizzie McLeod, Agnes McLeod and Grace Hartfield and 32 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her awards and recognition include: District W.H.O.M. Society Missionary Of The Year - Church President Of Home Mission Workers Of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church - First Honoree Recognition Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Rochester-Syracuse District Christian Education Department and Livingston School Apartments Citizenship Award for Outstanding Citizenship.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Harriet Tubman Memorial AME Zion Church, 90 Franklin Street, Auburn New York 13021. Family will be present from 11:00am-12:00pm, Memorial Service will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Committal will be at Fort Hill Cemetery immediately after the services. There will be no prior calling hours.
