COLONIE – Friedegard (Stanchuk) Otty, 91 of Colonie, passed away at home on Monday, December 18, 2006, surrounded by her family. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Luise Forklel. She was a resident of Colonie for most of her life. Mrs. Otty was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, West Albany Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary and the Menands Senior Citizens. Friedegard was the wife of the late George Otty and Edward Stanchuk. She is the beloved mother of Gloria Fraley, Beatrice Otty, George (Geraldine) Otty, Laurence (Kathryn) Otty, Ronald (Sharon) Otty and Robert (Frances) Otty. She is the sister of Walter (Elizabeth) Igler. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Otty was predeceased by her brother, Helmuth Igler and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
