ALBANY - Gail Samuelson, 65, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Baltimore on November 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mimi Samuelson.

ALBANY - Gail Samuelson, 65, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mimi Samuelson.
Gail earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland and a M.P.A. from the University at Albany. She worked 17 years as an Educational Coordinator at the Adult Learning Center in Albany and was subsequently employed at Rockefeller College and the Two-Year College Development Center at University at Albany, and as Director of the Merwin Rural Services Institute at SUNY Potsdam. Since 2006, she worked as a Health Program Administrator at the New York State Cancer Registry. She was an avid reader, gardener, art and antique collector, and dog lover. She will be remembered for her dedication, generous sense of humor, and ability to care for people during difficult times.
Gail is survived by sister Emily Samuelson; nieces Annie Kramon and Allie Semenza; nephew Justin Kramon; brother-in-law Jim Kramon; God-children, Rebecca Gottstein Holden, Carolyn Gottstein Gannon, Emily Jane Gottstein, Maria and Gian Volpe-McDermott; partner Robert Shepherd; dog Nelson; cousins; and many friends. She was predeceased by sister Paula Kramon.
