Garrett M. Garrity

Colonie - Garrett M. Garrity, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, June 28, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Garrett was the son of the late James J. and Mary (Lane) Garrity. Garrett was the devoted husband to the late Tecla Salustri Garrity. They were married 28 years.

Garrett graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree as an Electrician and went to work with the IBEW Union for many years before going on to work for the State of New York. Garrett honorably served our country with the US Marines in the Korean War. He was an avid golfer. He was also very devoted to the Catholic Church and led the Rosary at St. Pius X Catholic Church in the morning after Mass.

Garrett is survived by his daughters, Diana (Mark) King, Mary (Walter) Babeyko, and Cecilia (Jeffrey) Clark; his grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) King, Joshua (Allison) King and Valerie King, Robert Sala, Daniel (Larissa) Sala, Nicole (Daniel) Gillespie and Sarah (Jason Lucia) Babeyko, Kevin Clark and Grace Clark; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Taylor King, Lincoln Sala, Lennox Lucia and baby King on the way; his brother, Timothy Garrity; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Garrett is predeceased by his brother, James Garrity.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm., followed immediately with a Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
