VOORHEESVILLE, NY – Garry Lee Petre, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 4, 2008. Garry was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country from 1957 through 1961. He received his master's degree in business administration from S.U.N.Y. Albany. Garry was the owner of the former Parc V Café and most recently, a partner at R & R Auto in Schenectady. In 1953, Garry earned the highest rank in boy scouting, Eagle Scout and was a member of Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of the Restaurant and Bar Association. He is the husband of Jeannie M. Petre. He is the father of Tracy Terry and her husband, Floyd of Lansingburgh, Joni Scholz and her husband, Albert of Virginia Beach, VA and Michelle Wickum and her husband, Todd of Virginia Beach, VA. He is the grandfather of Taylor Scholz, Christopher Terry, Daniel Scholz, James Wickum, Maxwell Wickum and Jennifer McCue; great-grandfather of Rayne and Hailey Barnes. Dearest Dad, you left too quickly for us to be able to tell you how much you mean to our family. We will take your love for us along for the rest of our lives. You will be forever missed by your wife, daughters and grandsons. Rest in Peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory's Garden.
